Voice Studio
A passionate and committed voice teacher, Lee Bisset runs a small teaching practice alongside her singing career. Her lessons guide singers towards developing the technique, confidence, and creativity to make their own artistic choices, and sing openly and freely from the heart.
She has taught regularly at the Blackheath Conservatoire, L’accademia del opera Rimini, the online Double Diadem Teachers’ Collective, and the Dartington International Summer School; and given masterclasses for Hawaii Opera Theatre, Dorset Festival Opera, the National Student Opera Society and St. Andrews University. Her students range from keen amateurs of all ages and vocal styles, to established professionals.
Lee studied at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire, the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio. She has sung major roles for English National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City, Konzert Theater Bern, Theatro Municipal, São Paulo, Opera Omaha, Opera Memphis and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Her vocal journey has taken her from early music mezzo soprano to dramatic soprano, singing through pregnancy, serious illness, and major surgery, and adjusting her technique along the way. Her teaching combines broad personal experience and expertise with an ongoing commitment to stay abreast of the recent advance in voice science. She was recently awarded a PG Cert in Voice Pedagogy with distinction (UWTSD), and participated in the inaugural St. Andrew’s Vocal Pedagogy course.
Lessons are held in person in Seaford, East Sussex, online, and from mid-October 2023 also at Valentine Voice Care in Lewes.
